Low Cost Airlines in Asia

Flying from Europe or North America to Asia can cause set you back few thousand dollars. However, once in Asia you can enjoy easy and cheap transportation between most of the countries in the continent. During my Exchange term in Hong Kong, i did quite a bit of research before finding the best deals for my flights to Philippines, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia.


Low Cost Airlines in Asia

I would like to share with you some of the most popular low cost airlines you can fly with in Asia. I hope this will help you save some money when planning your next trip. You need also to keep in mind that most of the airlines would have mega sales (flights as cheap as 10CAD) for certain periods if you pay your ticket early. So keep an eye out of the sales.

HK Express: new Hong kong based airlines that now now flies to China, Malaysia, Indonesia , Taiwan, Thailand and Japan

Fanfares by Cathay Pacific: Special fanfares from HK every tuesday at 8am. Many destinations all over the world

Dragon Air: The low cost subsidiary of Cathay Pacific, flies to China, Taiwan, Cambodia, Thailand, Philippines etc…

AirAsia: Based in Malaysia but offers flights to almost all major cities in Asia

TigerAirways: Many cities in SEA, in addition to India, Bangladesh and Audtralia

FireFly: Flights between Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand

LionAir: Serves Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam and India

JetStar:  Australian company offering flight to and from many city in SEA, in addition to Japan, Australia and New Zeland

Cebu Pacific Airlines: very cheap flights from and to the Philippines

SpringAirlines: Cheapest ticket between cities in China and to SEA, in addition to Japan and Korea

BangkokAirlines: Locals flights in Thailans and to Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore, Laos, Cambodia, India and Bangladesh

Indigo Airlines: Local flights in India and to Thailand and Singapore

Jeju Air: flights from Korea to Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand andPhilippines

FlyPeach: Low cost flight in Japan and to Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan

Another important tool is websites that allow you to compare fares, I recommend SkyScanner for this.
